Review: Until Dawn (2025)

Until Dawn (2025) is a chilling adaptation of the popular 2015 interactive horror video game by Supermassive Games. The film brings the iconic cabin-in-the-woods survival story to the big screen, blending classic slasher horror tropes with psychological thrills and a supernatural twist.

Set on a remote mountain during a snowstorm, the story follows a group of friends who return to a lodge one year after a tragic incident. What begins as a reunion quickly descends into a terrifying fight for survival as they’re hunted by an unknown force—and each other’s dark secrets come to light.

The film captures the tension and atmosphere of the game remarkably well. The direction is sharp, the pacing keeps you on edge, and the snowy, isolated setting adds to the claustrophobic fear. The horror elements are a perfect mix of jump scares, gore, and slow-burning dread.

The cast features a solid mix of young rising stars and familiar faces. Each character gets enough screen time to develop, and the film makes you care about their fates—even if you know not all of them will make it out alive.

Unlike many game adaptations, Until Dawn (2025) respects its source material while delivering a cinematic experience that stands on its own. It’s stylish, suspenseful, and packed with twists that will leave both fans and newcomers guessing until the very end.
